Yes, locally, in your browser, which is how it can warn you. It never transmits or stores the text.
Does anything leave my browser?+
Only if you are a Pro user: PasteLens sends one request to validate your licence key (the key and its status only, never your content). On the free tier, nothing leaves your browser at all.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. Detection is fully local.
What does the audit log store?+
Metadata only: time, site, action, per-category counts, regime tags. Never the pasted text.
Do you collect anything on this website?+
No. No accounts, no analytics, no cookies, no forms.
Do I need an account or email to use PasteLens?+
No. It installs and works with no signup. We only need an email if you buy Pro, to issue and validate your licence key.

Which sites does it work on?+
It warns on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Grok, Meta AI, DeepSeek and Mistral Le Chat. One-click redaction is fully verified on ChatGPT today and is being verified on the others.
Which browsers?+
Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers now. Firefox is coming.
What about false positives?+
One click to paste anyway, plus an allowlist to suppress specific strings.
Is this GDPR / HIPAA compliance?+
No tool can certify compliance for you. PasteLens is a control-and-evidence layer: it helps you prevent leaks and keep a record that you did.
